Your imagination is the only limit when it comes to devising uses for Magic-Sculpt
Magic-Sculpt is a two-part self-hardening epoxy clay specifically designed to meet the needs of modelers, crafters and sculptors. It will smooth out with water and can be handled like any water-based clay. Its grain structure is finer than any other product available and will not shrink or crack. It can be shaped by hand or with modeling tools, sanded, carved, painted; you can attack it with a grinding tool and the cured material will not break apart or lose its shape. Magic-Sculpt cures at room temperature so no firing or baking is necessary. It is non-toxic making it great for hand sculpting and molding.
Magic-Sculpt is used throughout the world by hundreds of different crafts and professions — artists, sculptors, taxidermists, furniture restorers, mold makers, manufacturing, museums, sign makers, prop studios, fx artists, ceramicists, doll makers, miniature artists, action figure designers and modifiers, as well as many more.
It has approximately a 3 hour working time from mixing to hardening and can be sanded, drilled or modified with carving tools after hardening. It accepts most paints and is outdoor or underwater durable!
Magic-Sculpt adheres to most surfaces including foam, wood, glass, stone, clay, and almost anything else. Also works as a bonding agent between two different materials.
Use as a sculpting or modifying medium over an armature or mannequin or by itself as a sculpting material. It comes in Natural (light grey), White, Brown, Flesh, Black and Green colors and in 1,5 and 20 lb containers consisting of one container of Resin and one of Hardener to be mixed together in equal quantities.
I love this stuff and don't know what I would do without it!!! mike on 6th Jul 2015
I have only used gray in the past. I purchased Aves Apoxie Sculpt and noticed it was more pliable- - too pliable for some of my applications. I was pleasantly surprised to find the black magic sculpt is more pliable now. It is an excellent black color and while while easier to work not quite as soft as Apoxie sculpt which works for me. I will be purchasing MS again. linda archinal on 9th Jun 2015
a great wood filler. Chris M on 1st Jun 2015
Most important is its claim of being non-toxic. Both parts blend together well and have a good strength in my finished product. working time is excellent with ample time for detail work. gary on 22nd May 2015
Great durability! Holds detail as long as you keep an eye on it! I love this stuff! Unknown on 12th May 2015
...I used this product a year ago after searching for several months for a suitable material to complete a sculpture. I bought it again for another project that will be installed later this spring. It was an ideal solution for me because I wanted to work indoors in my studio in northern Wisconsin.
I have no trouble mixing the clay, although it's taxing on the hands, but find that working in detail is more difficult than working in traditional clay, feathering into a substrate eludes me and sanding is a bear. I have also noticed my eyes burn after a longer session with the Magic-Sculpt in the studio.
It would be great if the advertising listed the containers' COMBINED weight so I could have saved on shipping charges. Yes, I'll need more! Unknown on 26th Mar 2015
Versatile and durable! This is the best clay I have used and works great on and for just about everything you can think of. Unknown on 26th Mar 2015
Yes, this stuff is sticky to work with. I found it got better as it aged a little - don't let it sit unused TOO long though! I bought the 5 lb size and it made a number of decently pieces and a few exquisitely skall and delicate ones. This stuff is much more durable than either Sculpty or Fimo clays that you bake in the oven and I found it easier to manipulate. The tricky part was getting my two parts equal - it is too sticky in its raw form to use any kind of measuring device. I just eyeballed it and got better at it as I went along. Once it is well mixed I found I had about 20 minutes working time - and usually ended up with a bit at the end that was just too stiff to work. Make SMALL batches at first until you a feel for it. Water can be used to smooth it at the end, but seemed to accelerate the hardening process - wait until the end to for this. The more I use it the better I like it! Samantha Kaye on 24th Mar 2015
This clay is super easy to use. It blends well and is very durable when hardened. I have found it is better to work with slightly damp hands for smoothing as it will take fingerprints. I highly recommend it. Mr Bones Curiosity Shop on 22nd Mar 2015
I don't know what I would do without this clay! It is versatile and durable and works for everything from sculpting to repair work... On anything! Unknown on 23rd Feb 2015
