The History Channel’s reality show Mounted In Alaska brings the taxidermy business to the forefront of interesting places to work.
Russel Knight has assembled a team of skilled craftsmen who take on the challenges of taxidermy in Alaska. It shows the processes involved in preserving wildlife in their familiar mounted forms. The shows clients range for local Alaskans to African hunters with projects as diverse as caribou and camels.
If you are a fan of art in any form, you will enjoy this show as these guys are truly artists preserving and displaying the art of the life around the world.
One of the things that you will see in this show is extensive use of epoxy clay in the mounting and repairing process. Magic-Sculpt is used by taxidermists just shown on Mounted in Alaska. It is also great for most any type of sculpting endeavor.
