“I moved to Baton Rouge from my hometown of Brookhaven, Mississippi in the early 70s. I have always been involved in art but stepped away from artistic expression for work, raising my two children, Jennifer and Rusty and just living life. After the kids were grown, my husband, David, and I were transferred to Lithuania while employed with Turner Industries. We took this opportunity to visit over 23 European countries. This exposure to diverse cultures and unique creative styles renewed my passion for personal create expression.”

“Retiring when we returned to Baton Rouge, there was finally opportunity to admire our local art and devote some of this time to explore multiple mediums. i got busy gathering materials and tools needed to try most everything. After exploring art and design in both 2 and 3 dimensions, it wasn’t until I found scuplting that it all clicked for me.”

“For the past couple of years, I have been sculpting in a variety of forms including clay. Recently, i was introduced to a textile-hardening medium and began making cloth sculptures. Each sculpture is created using a wire armature covered with natural fibers saturated with hardening solution and then molded into final form. Adding the hair, clothing and accessories are where the figures come to life for me.”
